Using the Recoverit interface, we selected the location where I lost files were last seen. The application makes it possible to scan individual folders, but we know from previous experience with other data recovery tools that this supposedly time-saving feature rarely works in practice because the exact location of lost data is often unknown, so it’s necessary to scan the whole drive.
Step 2: Scan the Location
Once Recoverit started scanning, it presented a progress bar and information about the number of files found. Unfortunately, no estimate of the remaining time was given. The scan speed was decent, though not the fastest we’ve seen. The good news is that the application displayed scan results in real-time during the scan.
